He knew every important figure in the city, and all their secrets besides. He had shared a bed with every woman in the city whose looks ranked eight out of ten or higher.

He had mastered over a hundred languages, enough to speak with 99.9 percent of the world without difficulty. He played every mainstream instrument with the skill of a master. Across the endless repetitions of that single day, he had studied fighting, driving, marksmanship, cooking, dance, acting—everything.

And so he looped for a thousand years.

Then, on a new day, the sun rose as it always had.
