Chapter 074: He Just Put His Hands on Her

“Come straight in. I’ll tell the front desk. Come out to the golf course. I’m in Area C.” Su Qingying’s voice was as calm and cold as it had been yesterday, and she hung up the moment she finished.
Wu Chen drove into the front courtyard of Tangsha Private Club—a vast parking lot.
The club sat well out of the way, in Donghai City’s northern suburbs. It could be said to be just up against the main urban district without being inside it. Even so, the place was extraordinarily high-end and lavish.
Above all, it was big. Exceptionally big.
Nothing like the pleasure dens Li Ruotai ran.
This place was built for business.
One sentence covered it: this was a rich people’s club.
The building itself wasn’t especially tall, but it sprawled across an enormous footprint and had a strong sense of design. Beyond dining and lodging, it offered swimming, fitness, bowling, tennis, golf, and other leisure pursuits, along with twenty-four-hour butler service.
It was a premium business club that took members only and never a walk-in guest.
You had to hold a card before you could enjoy anything here.
Even the bottom-tier Gold Card ran two hundred thousand yuan a year, and that two hundred thousand only opened the card. Spending was counted separately.
The Diamond Card, a tier up, was one million a year, spending likewise separate.
And then there was the Black Card. A Black Card was not something money alone could buy. Without sufficient standing, or someone to introduce you, you would never get one.
Naturally, members of different tiers enjoyed different service.
As Wu Chen knew, Su Qingying held a Black Card here. Black Card members could bring in any number of guests to dine and spend, and could use every entertainment and leisure facility on the grounds.
The lot held plenty of luxury cars, but it was so large that it still looked half-empty.
Wu Chen picked a space at random, parked the Lamborghini, and walked inside.
Like a man who knew every inch of the place.
He crossed the lobby and went straight to the front desk.
He had been here far too many times before. During the thousand-year loop there had been a stretch when he came constantly. A card took two hundred thousand, and he hadn’t had that kind of savings, but he could mortgage his apartment and take out loans from sharks—the money landed the instant the paperwork was done. It didn’t even eat up a morning. Blindingly fast.
Every day reset, so at the time he never once thought about what came after the money was gone.
He hadn’t always paid, either. Plenty of times he had simply slipped in. With the skills he’d built up, getting inside was no trouble at all.
He had tasted the full leisure of upper-class wealth right here.
“Sir, your card—is this your first visit? Would you like to look around first?” The young woman at the front desk smiled, extremely professional.
“I have an appointment. Miss Su,” Wu Chen said, smiling.
“One moment, please…” She lowered her head as if to look it up for him.
“Mr. Wu, is it?” Just then a middle-aged woman in a business suit came over quickly from one side. She was very beautiful, and carried herself well. Tangsha Private Club’s front-hall manager.
“That’s me.” Wu Chen turned toward her.
“This way, Mr. Wu. Miss Su is waiting for you.” She started leading him at once.
She didn’t know who Wu Chen was, but she knew who Su Qingying was. A guest of Donghai’s foremost heiress could hardly be handled carelessly.
The grounds were so large that Wu Chen followed her for several full minutes, then rode a sightseeing cart for two more, before he finally saw Su Qingying in the distance.
Area C of the golf course.
On the ground floor, facing the course, the structure opened out into a terrace garden, and from it an awning extended five meters deep and a hundred meters wide. Beneath the awning ran a line of hitting bays, each partitioned off into its own few meters of space.
It was only nine in the morning, and the course was nearly empty.
Wu Chen stepped off the cart and, from a distance, watched Su Qingying swing a golf club and drive a ball out.
“Mr. Wu, Miss Su is waiting for you over there,” the front-hall manager said.
“Thank you.” Wu Chen straightened his suit, slid one hand into his pocket, and walked over.
Bay 15, Area C.
Su Qingying wore athletic clothes and a sun visor. Both arms extended, she gripped the club, lined up on the golf ball in the hitting bay twice, then swung hard.
Thwack!
The white golf ball was struck and flew far out.
“Not bad. You’ve got about half my skill.” Wu Chen came to a stop a few meters behind and to one side of her. He turned his head to follow the ball, said it with a smile, then looked at her.
Su Qingying planted the club on the ground and rested her palm over the grip, turning her head toward him.
She was past the stage of terror and unease she couldn’t control, so she was calm—on the surface, at least.
It had to be said: even in athletic clothes and a visor, Su Qingying was a dazzling woman with an otherworldly air about her.
She was a few months older than Li Ruobing, yet she looked years younger, with a very girlish quality to her.
That was why she liked big wavy curls. Her features were too fine and her skin too good, and it made her look overly young. The waves lent her a little more maturity.
“How did you find out?” she asked evenly, then turned back around.
The ball dispenser set up another automatically. Having asked her question, she used the club to nudge the ball into position, then, as before, sighted twice, raised the club sharply, and swung, driving the ball out with everything she had.
The crack was sharper than the last one.
“How I found out… isn’t important, is it?” Wu Chen smiled. “Everyone has secrets. Everyone is afraid of them getting out. But how someone came to know isn’t the point.”
“Name your price,” Su Qingying said.
“What price? You think I’m here to blackmail you?”
“If you don’t take money, I can’t be at ease.”
“If I take money, then it really is blackmail. I told you—you can relax. I won’t say a word to anyone.”
“How am I supposed to believe you on your word alone? You must understand what would happen to me if that matter came out. My reputation would be finished. My family would be shamed. It might even decide whether I can take over the company at all. Once the board loses faith in me, then even with my father as majority shareholder, I would still… My father’s health is poor. I can’t put him through another shock.”
Thwack!
Another ball sailed out.
Su Qingying kept hitting the whole time she spoke with him.
Wu Chen knew that she had once disliked exercise intensely, but that the older she got, the more she had come to love it—golf above all, because it let her vent.
Every stroke used all her strength, driving the ball at least a hundred meters out.
It really was a release.
For Su Qingying, at least, it was a very effective one.
“Are you threatening me? Painting the picture that grim on purpose? What kind of guarantee do you want from me? And if you’re this worried, why didn’t you bring more bodyguards today?” As he spoke Wu Chen glanced to either side, then back at her. “Bring a few more men, grab me, dig a hole, bury me. Then my mouth stays shut forever.”
Her bodyguards were nearby, but all of them far off. Wu Chen counted two.
This was a golf course, wide open ground. There was no chance of a stranger getting close to her without being seen, so the guards didn’t need to hover.
That was exactly why she had chosen to meet him here. No one could hear a word the two of them said.
“I’m not Li Ruobing. Why would I do something like that?” Su Qingying said.
“Talking about my girlfriend that way with me standing right here? Aren’t you afraid I’ll lose my temper and start running my mouth?”
“I’m not lying, so what is there to be angry about? You know better than I do what sort of people Li Ruobing and Li Ruotai are. I am not the same kind of person.”
As she spoke, she worked the club again, setting up to strike.
Then, suddenly—
She felt arms come around her and hands close over her own.
Wu Chen had stepped up and taken hold of her from behind. To be exact, he had followed her arms down and gripped the club.
“That’s not how you hit a ball. Stop thinking about venting. If you want distance… let me teach you,” he said.
It was the first time the two of them had formally met, and after barely a few sentences, Wu Chen simply put his hands on her.
“W-what are you doing? Let go—” Su Qingying twisted her shoulders, struggling.
