Chapter 160: An Easier Way! The Second Reset!

Wu Chen had told Meng Junhao there was no need to warn him, and Meng Junhao had obeyed—but the man was too frightened.

The more he thought about it, the more afraid he became.

He knew that if anything happened to Wu Chen, he would die too.

In the end he could not hold it in.

“Didn’t I tell you there was no need to notify me? Just do your part,” Wu Chen said, steering with one hand.

“I—I know, Mr. Wu, but…” Meng Junhao stammered.

He seemed to have a great deal he wanted to say, and in the end swallowed all of it and asked instead, “Mr. Wu, then what should I—should I notify Young Master Li?”

That was what Meng Junhao feared most.

If something happened to Wu Chen and Li Ruotai had received no advance word from him, he would die.

    “No,” Wu Chen said.

    “But Mr. Wu, I—you—”

“Do you think I’d gamble with my own life to play a joke on you?”

    “Then—then I—”

Wu Chen hung up before he could finish.

He pressed the accelerator and the Lamborghini ran on toward CBD Tower Seven.

Wu Chen knew perfectly well that the chances of something “happening” to him today were very high.

The tail he had spotted yesterday, and the wrongness in his home this morning, had made that clear.

    In fact—

He had deliberately let slip the information that he would be driving to Huancai Fashion.

Meng Junhao’s call just now also proved that Ding Ruilong’s people had indeed planted a listening device in his home.

    Everything was under control.

    More than twenty minutes later.

Wu Chen was not far from the CBD.

This whole area belonged to the “new district.” Development had begun relatively late—only a little over a decade ago—so the buildings around him were all new, and so were the roads, which were also extremely wide.

    Shangmao East Road.

The traffic lights at the intersection ahead were already in sight.

Wu Chen slowed, preparing to stop.

In the lane to the right of his blue Lamborghini, a black Toyota SUV came up alongside, accelerated, then swung abruptly across into the Lamborghini’s lane.

Wu Chen reacted instantly and touched the brake.

The Lamborghini slowed sharply, avoiding a rear-end collision or a scrape with the SUV that had forced its way in.

The other driver had plainly done it on purpose.

    Wu Chen frowned slightly.

Then his brow smoothed again, and a subtle smile appeared on his face.

    Here they came.

With the black SUV cut in ahead of him, Wu Chen checked both side mirrors.

Two large white trucks were coming up in the lanes to either side.

They looked like enclosed refrigerated transport trucks, each more than nine meters long.

Enormous trucks. Any bigger and they would have been tractor units hauling shipping containers.

Beside them, the Lamborghini was both tiny and low.

Both trucks pulled forward until their cabs were level with the black SUV in front.

But the rear halves of their bodies boxed the Lamborghini into the middle lane.

In that position the Lamborghini could turn neither left nor right.

Wu Chen already knew what they meant to do.

It was a classic method of killing a man through an “accidental” traffic collision. Unless the target discovered it in advance, the fatality rate was one hundred percent.

Wu Chen knew he was about to be “killed.”

And he was not panicked in the slightest.

If anything, the smile on his face deepened.

He raised a hand and adjusted the interior mirror, glancing through it at the traffic behind him.

The intersection was almost on them.

The black SUV stopped at the light.

    The Lamborghini stopped behind it.

The refrigerated trucks in the lanes to either side halted as well.

The SUV and the two trucks formed a U-shaped pocket.

The Lamborghini sat inside it with nowhere to go.

    VROOOOM—

The roar of an engine erupted behind him.

A vehicle was racing south toward the intersection in the Lamborghini’s own lane, apparently out of control.

Charging straight at the Lamborghini’s rear.

    A high-end pickup truck.

    Powerful…
