Chapter 93: Busy but Not Chaotic
by cnwebnovelsChapter 93: Busy but Not Chaotic
Deep within the rolling mountain range, inside that ancient castle.
The Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar had only just returned from the fog of history when He instinctively began clearing away every connection between Himself and the outside world, preparing to abandon this place immediately and transfer elsewhere.
Although even now He still had not figured out what exactly had happened earlier, experience told Him that once an accident had occurred, He could not afford the slightest lucky mentality. When it was time to retreat, He must retreat. When it was time to abandon something, He must abandon it!
At the same time, amid the old cities of bygone days, Klein’s thoughts moved. His figure instantly appeared inside the ancient palace above the gray fog, merging with the crimson “human silhouette” that sometimes distorted and sometimes scattered at The Fool’s seat, condensing into form.
Inside this mysterious space, the crimson stars representing Justice, The Hanged Man, The Star, and the other members of the Tarot Club were constantly expanding and contracting, sending out layer after layer of ripples that intertwined into a surging “tide.”
This was one of Klein’s preparations. In Gehrman Sparrow’s name, he had used different excuses to have the Tarot Club members pray to Mr. Fool one after another, asking that existence to relay a certain answer or piece of information to Mr. World.
In this way, the crimson stars would resonate, indirectly affecting Sefirah Castle and making it summon The Fool to deal with the matter.
This was one of the key reasons Klein had been able to escape from Amon back then. It allowed him to skip the effort of taking four steps counterclockwise in reverse and reciting the incantation, letting him enter Sefirah Castle directly without wasting even a little time.
And in a battle at the level of angels, the difference of one second might determine the final outcome. For Klein to fight the strong as the weak, he had to take every detail into account.
After sitting in the high-backed chair belonging to The Fool, Klein beckoned over the Staff of the Stars and the Sea God Scepter while observing the other changes within Sefirah Castle.
Within the grayish-white fog, an additional crimson spot of light had appeared. It was shrinking rapidly and would soon disappear. Beside The Fool’s seat, rings of light were blooming outward, as though about to form a pure passageway.
Within that crimson spot, the enormous figure of a demonic wolf could be faintly seen. This was the erosion Kotar had unconsciously suffered after peering into Sefirah Castle and, as time passed, gaining a certain understanding of it. Because of this, He had established a preliminary connection with Sefirah Castle. Of course, as an angel and as the God of Wishes from the Second Epoch, He possessed sufficient status and ability to cut off a connection of that level and cleanse the corresponding corruption. If Klein failed to seize the span of one or two seconds, he would once again lose his lock on the Dark Demonic Wolf’s whereabouts.
As for the rings of light beside The Fool’s chair, the figure reflected within them was Gehrman Sparrow, wearing a silk half top hat and a long black trench coat, with a monocle ground from crystal over his right eye.
Amon!
This avatar of the Blasphemer had used some unknown loophole to slow the dissipation of Klein’s image from the gaps of history. Then, by relying on the subtle relationship among “him,” the main body, and Sefirah Castle, He attempted to directly invade the space above the gray fog under the special circumstances where Sefirah Castle was summoning someone!
As the halos spread, Gehrman Sparrow’s slender, powerful palm pierced through the barrier and abruptly reached into the ancient palace, as though opening an invisible door.
Although Klein had long since prepared a contingency plan and knew Amon would not be so easy to shake off, when he saw this scene…
