    Chapter 105: Mocking Himself

The instant Klein’s “sincere” smile appeared, one silver crack after another suddenly split open across the face of the Spectator Saint that had separated from Enuni. They crisscrossed in a chaotic mesh, disorderly and jagged.

Klein seized the opportunity. With the silver-white rapier condensed by his Silver Knight marionette, he launched a surprise strike at his opponent.

Razor-sharp light erupted, tearing that figure into countless pieces.

Yet those pieces were all strangely illusory, lacking any true substance.

The Spectator Saint had used Psychological Invisibility to create an illusion, concealing his true body!

    Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Streak after streak of silver-white sharpness either shot at high speed toward the Spectator Saint split from Enuni, or leapt out directly from the target’s location, bursting from within.

Relying on the speed and agility granted by his powerful fleshly body, the Spectator Saint kept changing positions and dodging again and again, avoiding all injury.

Because he possessed precise control over his own mind and spirit, Klein’s danger intuition could not form an image in his mind. This made it difficult for him to predict the other party’s movements and have the silver-white rapiers waiting in advance at the places he was about to appear.

    Thud, thud, thud!

The enormous knight covered in solid silver armor charged at the target with a greatsword in hand, as if he could smash through a mountain.

Due to the existence of the Domain of No Darkness, Klein’s Silver Knight marionette could not Borrow Light to Conceal himself. He could only launch a direct assault.

Seeing this, the Spectator Saint’s body abruptly swelled, transforming into a ferocious dragon with grayish-white scales, a mantle of shadow, and a divinity that stood out in chilling clarity.

The dragon’s body was enormous, its gray scales sturdy, its claws powerful. It forcibly blocked the Silver Knight’s slash.

Amid thunderous collisions, giant and dragon fought until the bricks and stones of the ancient god’s divine kingdom shattered, palaces collapsed, and the entire area became a ruinous mess.

Klein maintained his exaggerated smile and controlled his marionette with full concentration, apparently ignoring the “shadow.”

    No—he did make certain interferences.

He controlled the Spirit Body Threads of himself, his marionette, the City of Silver’s Chief, Lovia, and Little Sun, preventing the “shadow” from gaining control of any of them. From time to time, he also extended his hand and summoned the historical projections that the “shadow” was attempting to summon, causing both sides’ efforts to cancel each other out.

Aside from that, Klein did not so much as glance at the “shadow.”

After wandering for a while, the shadow had no choice but to open its mouth and make a “bang” sound.

An air cannonball shot out, striking Klein’s Silver Knight marionette and exploding with violent force.

Amid the rumbling detonation, the marionette merely swayed slightly before recovering. Not even a crack appeared on the silver full-body armor he wore.

“Haha.” Seeing this, Klein laughed aloud, giving the impression that he was about to bend over from amusement.

As himself, how could he not know how weak his own attacks and defenses were?

When the two core abilities—manipulating Spirit Body Threads and summoning projections from the fog of history—could not take effect, the marionette-less “shadow” could only watch from the sidelines in a battle between demigods. Whether it was Air Cannon, Flaming Jump, creating illusions, or the Clown’s combat skills, all of them were no more than embellishments or support.

Similarly, Klein had not attacked the “shadow” because he knew all too well how disgusting abilities such as Paper Figurine Substitute, Flaming Jump, Damage Transfer, and illusion creation could be. He understood that there was no way he could quickly deal with the other party. Better to let him stand…
