    Chapter 85: The Best Support

The three-layer jewelry box, silver-black in color and inlaid with many different gemstones, was opened in one swift motion, revealing the scene inside its second layer.

There was only deep, boundless blackness within. Even the barriers around it seemed to have melted into that darkness, giving the impression that it had neither edge nor bottom.

A moment later, countless brilliant points lit up inside that darkness, making it seem as though it had become a miniature starry sky, a miniature universe.

Those dazzling points of light spun rapidly, causing the surrounding scene to shift several times in the span of a single second.

What Klein had planned was to transfer Abomination Suah, the Rose School of Thought Witch King, and the large number of believers and vassals within range to the Ruins of the Battle of Gods, making them leave the Southern Continent. That way, they would be unable to immediately notice that Karaman’s side had also been attacked, and therefore could not provide effective support. However, the second layer of the Box of the Great Old Ones possessed randomness. Only in a minority of cases could it “release” the specified scene. In most situations, the chosen destination would inevitably mutate. This could not be influenced by accumulated luck—at least, not below Sequence 0.

Therefore, after opening the second layer of the Box of the Great Old Ones, Klein himself did not know what situation would appear. It was like sitting at a card table without cheating through Beyonder powers, relying only on observation to deduce everyone’s chips: his heart was filled with unease. Of course, he was not overly worried. No matter where the Box of the Great Old Ones took him and Miss Messenger, it could not truly harm him. After all, Reinette Tinekerr was fake, the Box of the Great Old Ones was fake, and he himself was fake.

Taking that into account, even if the Box of the Great Old Ones threw them underground, forcing them to face that terrifying pollution directly, Klein could instantly dismiss the historical projections, enter Sefirah Castle, perform a thorough “disinfection,” and cut off the connection.

On that foundation, he had the ability to help Miss Messenger’s true body resist the pollution. It was not direct exposure. With the layer of historical projection in between, things would be relatively better.

The only thing Klein needed to worry about was the possibility that the scene randomly selected by the Box of the Great Old Ones’ second layer would be exactly where Miss Sharron and Emlyn were attacking the Witch King Karaman. In that case, he would be equivalent to leading the enemy’s main forces straight to his own headquarters. He could only consider abandoning the operation, divide the work with Reinette Tinekerr, bring the other participants out of the battlefield, and escape the Southern Continent.

The probability of that situation occurring was very low, but he had no choice except to guard against it.

At that moment, due to the influence of Abomination Suah’s aura, Klein’s spirituality had “solidified” considerably, as though his body and soul were being restrained. Even so, it still surged into the Box of the Great Old Ones, maintaining its opened state.

In the blink of an eye, the scene inside the Box of the Great Old Ones’ second layer changed, revealing a miniature, boundless sea of sand.

Klein, Reinette Tinekerr, Abomination Suah, the hooded Witch King, and a large number of Rose School of Thought believers and vassals all simultaneously saw endless yellow sand and felt the extreme cold of night.

Aside from the projection of the Chained God, every living being on this battlefield was instantly transferred to a desert!

As for that projection, because Abomination Suah had departed, the connection was severed, and it could no longer seep power into reality.

Klein had no time to examine where they had arrived. He dismissed the Box of the Great Old Ones…
