    Chapter 171: The Strongest Organization

As the firelight flickered, Derrick and the others subconsciously looked toward the dark-red long table. The first thing they noticed was the figure nearest to them.

The figure wore a plain linen robe and had long silver hair. Its facial features could not be made out, yet for Colin, Lovia, Derrick, and the others, it somehow felt familiar.

In the next instant, it was as though lightning had split open their minds, abruptly illuminating a vague memory.

    “Angel of Fate, Ouroboros!”

The pupils of the City of Silver’s people had only just begun to widen when that figure turned its head and looked at them.

A pair of indifferent eyes immediately occupied their vision, and one mysterious, transcendent ring after another appeared in relief.

In a daze, Derrick saw another figure appear before him. It was a handsome, sunny, vigorous man draped in a pure white robe, with short golden hair.

With his arrival, the surroundings became abnormally bright. A warm sensation, like sunlight itself, instantly filled every corner.

Derrick felt as though he were seeing the legendary daylight. For a moment, he forgot where he was and what he was supposed to do.

The man stepped forward. His illusory, blurry figure overlapped with Derrick.

Then Derrick found himself seated beside the dark-red long table, occupying one of the high-backed chairs.

He had become that handsome, radiant man and was now taking part in a secret gathering.

At the same time, the gray-haired Chief of the City of Silver, Colin, whose face was marked by many old scars, encountered a similarly blurry and illusory figure.

That figure was seven or eight meters tall, wearing silver full-body armor. Where its eyes should have been was a mass of light, like both dawn and twilight.

It raised the longsword in its hand and pressed it against Colin Iliad’s forehead like a scepter.

Demon Hunter Colin struggled for a moment, then was enveloped by an orange-red glow and quickly calmed down.

He and the giant opposite him then fused into one. He stepped forward, walked to the dark-red long table, and sat in the second seat on the right.

The Shepherd Lovia encountered a man wearing a black robe. His dark, curling hair fell past his shoulders, and he had eyes seemingly covered by shadows. His precise face was vague and difficult to see, yet the silver threads on his clothing, the complex patterns, and the ornate accessories all impressed themselves directly into Lovia’s mind.

Lovia began to tremble. She could not stop herself from lowering her head, allowing the layers of illusory black wings that opened behind him to wrap around her.

She became that man and walked to the head of the dark-red long table.

There, two high-backed chairs with intricate patterns had been placed. Lovia chose the one on the left.

The remaining members of the City of Silver’s exploration team all encountered similar situations, though the figures they faced differed from one another.

After “they” each found seats on both sides of the dark-red long table, the remaining empty high-backed chair at the head of the table saw the void deepen slightly, outlining the figure of a woman seemingly shrouded in mist.

Immediately afterward, a voice that seemed to have crossed over from ancient times echoed beside the “gatherers’” ears:

“…We are redeeming ourselves, and also maintaining the balance of this world…”

“…Division and betrayal are undoubtedly the most fundamental order…”

    “…This is also His idea…”

“…It cannot be denied that we all have our own dark thoughts and desires, but that is perfectly normal…”

“…Death and blood will be unavoidable. We take the name Rose of Redemption…”

Above the gray fog, Klein listened with exceptional focus, impatiently hoping that the voice would reveal more.

However, both the scene and the voice began to repeat at that moment, as though only a brief several dozen seconds had been fixed in place.

This is the scene when Rose of Redemption was founded? Previously, the Red Angel evil spirit said this was an extremely secretive organization founded by a group of contaminated angels. From the looks of it now, that isn’t the case… The one who said those words back then probably wasn’t Medici, but either Sauron or Einhorn. They actually don’t understand Rose of Redemption that well… Klein muttered inwardly, then returned his attention to the City of Silver’s people, who, like puppets, kept repeating the actions of approaching, sitting, listening, and moving away.

After the torches around the hall had lit up one after another, Klein had already used True Vision to discover the abnormality.

He saw the murals on the walls come alive, rapidly expanding and overlapping with the hall, making the long table, chairs, and stone floor that had been cold for thousands of years become warm again. It allowed the figures that had once met secretly there to “revive” in fixed positions across the barrier of time, and allowed certain words from that era to arrive in the present.

Among those figures, quite a few were familiar to Klein.

The first one he noticed was also the Angel of Fate, Ouroboros.

This King of Angels, who still belonged to Rose of Redemption even today, was the most spiritual among all the illusory figures.

Combining this with the fact that the scene was looping, Klein preliminarily suspected that the one who had painted the murals and left behind these traces was the Tail Devourer, Ouroboros.

“In the earlier temple ruins, there were murals He left behind. Somewhere in the ruins of the battle of gods, there were also murals He left behind… Here in the Giant King’s Court, with similar murals and similar power, I would honestly find it hard to believe they weren’t His doing… Just how much does this King of Angels like murals? Does He paint wherever He goes?” Klein could not help silently roasting Ouroboros.

The second figure he noticed sat beside the Angel of Fate, Ouroboros. He wore black armor that looked as if it had been splashed with blood, and he had bright red hair that seemed to burn like fire. He was young and handsome.

The reason Klein paid attention to him was that Klein had seen him before in a dream.

Furthermore, he was also the one with the most arrogant sitting posture among all the figures. Not only did he lean back against the chair, he even placed both feet on the dark-red long table, not caring in the slightest that those around him were high-ranking beings of equal status.

    The Red Angel, Medici!

So these are the Kings of Angels who participated in the secret gathering? Who else is there… As his thoughts turned, Klein decided to first rescue the City of Silver’s people from the unceasing cycle of fate.

In that regard, he possessed rich experience.

“Mm. The medium of the cycle is the hall itself. But there’s no need to try destroying it. As long as the cycle of fate can be briefly broken, the twilight outside will seep in and dispel the abnormality… It belongs to the divine kingdom itself. In terms of status, it should be no lower than the power Ouroboros left behind…” After observing for a few seconds, Klein quickly came to a judgment.

After flipping a coin for divination, he immediately extended his spirituality toward the crimson star representing The Sun.

Derrick Berg’s spirit body promptly broke through the cycle of fate, creating an invisible gap.

The orange-red twilight outside the palace immediately poured in through the high windows, enveloping the entire hall.

Before Little Sun could figure out his own condition, Klein, worried about being locked onto by the True Creator, did not hesitate and let him return to the real world.

Derrick awoke from his trance and discovered that, at some unknown point, he had sat down at the side of the dark-red long table.

He raised his head in slight confusion and saw the Chief, Elder Lovia, Haim, Antilna, and the others. Their faces still held varying degrees of bewilderment.

Recalling what he had just experienced, Derrick became wary and carefully chose his words.

    “A cycle of fate…”

“Indeed.” Colin Iliad, who had experienced something similar before, nodded softly and stood.

He looked around once, then let his gaze fall upon the nearest and largest mural.

The mural depicted precisely this hall, with the same stone pillars, torches, dark-red long table, intricate high-backed chairs, and arrangement of objects.

Sitting upon those high-backed chairs were eleven figures: two at the head, five on the left, and four on the right.

The City of Silver’s people followed the Chief’s gaze and took in the corresponding details.

The five figures on the left, in order, were a soft-featured silver-haired man, a red-haired man sitting arrogantly, an old man wearing a hood that revealed only his mouth, wrinkles, and beard, a dignified middle-aged man dressed in black armor, and a handsome man in a white robe.

The four on the right were a mummy wrapped in bandages, a middle-aged or elderly man in a deep black robe whose features resembled those of a Southern Continent native, a giant covered in silver full-body armor, and a plump, soft-featured, dignified, holy lady.

The two high-backed chairs at the head seated, respectively, a man with black curls and eyes containing shadows, and a female figure shrouded in mist.

At that moment, one Guardian raised his right hand, pointed at the handsome, sunny man in the white robe, and said, “His figure is composed of a cluster of mysterious symbols. The symbolic meaning of these symbols is:

    “Pure White Angel, Aucuses…”

Before the Guardian could finish speaking, he suddenly let out a scream as streams of golden flame erupted from within his body.

In an instant, he became a charred corpse, one that seemed ready to crumble into ash at the slightest touch. Demon Hunter Colin and Shepherd Lovia had no time to save him.

“Do not attempt to decipher those symbols. They themselves contain extremely powerful strength,” Colin hurriedly reminded them in a low voice.

Above the gray fog, however, Klein was thinking of something else.

“Pure White Angel Aucuses. Is that the true name of the Eternal Blazing Sun?

“If not for the isolating power of the Giant King’s Court itself, merely reading this name in Giant language would have drawn His gaze and invited divine punishment…”

As thoughts surged, Demon Hunter Colin thrust his two swords before him, creating an invisible barrier.

Then the Chief of the City of Silver took the place of everyone else and began identifying the symbols and markings that formed those figures.

Starting from the last figure on the left, he read slowly yet firmly:

    “Angel of Fate, Ouroboros…

    “Angel of War, Medici…

    “Wisdom Angel, Herabergen…”

When he reached this point, Colin Iliad, whose invisible barrier was constantly trembling, paused, because this name was not unfamiliar to the people of the City of Silver.

It was the true name of the Dragon of Wisdom!

Could the Dragon of Wisdom have later become the Wisdom Angel at the Lord’s side? Similar questions surfaced in everyone’s hearts. Klein, however, noticed something strange.

The City of Silver’s historical records contained the name Herabergen, and the language they used daily was Giant—the language capable of mobilizing the surrounding forces of nature.

In other words, over the past two or three thousand years, someone in the City of Silver must have spoken or written “Herabergen,” yet the God of Knowledge and Wisdom had not responded, and the Church of Knowledge had still failed to locate the Forsaken Land of the Gods.

At that moment, Colin Iliad controlled his emotions and continued reading:

    “Wind Angel, Leodero…

    “Pure White Angel, Aucuses…

    “Dark Angel, Sasrir…

    “Evernight Goddess, Amanises…

    “God of War, Badheil…

    “Earth Mother, Omebella…

    “God of the Dead, Salinger…

    “God of Spiritual Objects, Tolzna…”

Although Klein had expected something along these lines, he was still left momentarily stunned.

The former Rose of Redemption was simply terrifyingly powerful.

Among the present Seven Gods, six had once been its members. It had also included Death, the God of Spiritual Objects, and three Kings of Angels.

This reminded Klein of something the Red Angel evil spirit had once said:

“Rose of Redemption has a close relationship with the birth of the True Creator. Certain fellows you absolutely cannot imagine were once members of Rose of Redemption, only later leaving the organization…”
